Yesterday we left Belfast and proceeded along the coast of Northern Ireland.
Our first stop was at the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge. The bridge was originally made up of one rope for your feet and one for your hands. Fisherman used to cross it daily. Now it has wooden planks and two ropes for your hands but it's still fun to cross. Plus the hike and views are beautiful.

From there we went to Giants Causeway. Science states that the hexagonal pillars were formed by volcanic activity. Irish folklore claims that the giant Finn McCool put the hexagon pillars into the ocean to form a bridge to Scotland to face his nemesis.
Finn crossed the bridge and upon seeing how large the giant there was he ran back and his wife hid him in the baby cradle. The Scottish giant came across to Ireland and thought that the cradle contained Finn's baby and if the baby was that big Finn must be enormous. So the Scottish giant ran back across the bridge, ripping up the hexagons and destroying it.

Upon arriving in Derry we were supposed to go on a walking tour but the person never showed up. So I went on a short walk with a couple of others before dinner. We all went out for drinks and I tried my first strawberry daqueri. Honestly I didn't like it very much.
A few of us walked back to the hostel around 11 and went to bed. I got up early to shower only to discover that there was no hot water. Yippee! That's crappy hostel life for you. Then we went on a super short walking tour and learned about the history of Derry such as the fighting known as Bloody Sunday.
Today we've been on the road to Galway and just made a few small stops such as at another old monastery and at a small coastal town for lunch.
