Well I've got two days left until departure! I've been excited all week but now the anticipation and nerves are really starting to building. I've spent most of the past week finalizing the itinerary, pulling together loose ends, and somewhat gathering the things I may need. I took the GRE on Friday and since then have been free to spend all my time relaxing and getting ready.
The major packing began tonight. I picked out the clothes I would take based on the Rick Steeves packing list and started really pulling together little things like painkillers, luggage locks, and bandaids.

It looks like so much stuff when it's all out like this. Once it's all organized it should be perfect for backpacking though. All the websites I've been using have been super helpful. Rick Steeves amd the Savvy Backpacker have been my favorites thus far. they've really helped me figure out what items to buy, what to pack, and how to travel through Europe.
Although I really wanted to pack I spent a few hours after dinner tonight printing lots of stuff off. I still have more to print but at least I got the most important things done. The printer was having a hissy fit and every 3 or 4 pages would have an error and cancel my print job. I eventually got it all done but there was so much more than I expected.
All these papers include two different versions of the itinerary, email confirmations, ticket reservations, and city guides. The bad part is I still have to print off maps, my list of places to see in each city, and important phrases. Hppefully, the printer will be in a better mood.
Tomorrow I get to spend the entire day actually starting to pack things into my backpack, printing the last things off, and probably running around like a half crazy person unfortunately. It's all part of the fun!
